Abstract:
In the trenching, for nearly its whole length no significant archaeological features, deposits or artefacts were observed. At the north end medieval masonry was however seen and with that realisation a closer look was made of the walling at a higher level. It Would appear that substantial areas of medieval wall, both in length and height survive within the Deanery buildings at this end of the yard. A short length of Roman wall probably also survives behind nineteenth century refacing in another building on the south side of the yard.
